Accessibility statement
Everyone is welcome in this house, and that includes this website. Here is what we do to keep it usable for everyone, and how to tell us when it isn’t.
Built to WCAG 2.2 AA
myvuwc.com aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. Rather than adding an accessibility overlay or widget, we build accessibility into the site itself — overlays often interfere with the assistive technology people already use, so we remediate the underlying pages instead.

Keyboard and screen reader support
Every menu, form, and interactive control works with a keyboard alone: visible focus indicators, a skip-to-content link, logical heading structure, ARIA attributes on the navigation menus, and a focus-trapped mobile menu that closes with Escape.
Readable text at every size
Text scales fluidly with the viewport and honors your browser's text-size settings. Color combinations are chosen to meet AA contrast ratios on both light and dark sections.
Reduced motion respected
Animations and transitions are subtle and short, and they are disabled entirely when your device asks for reduced motion.
Meaningful images
Photographs and graphics carry descriptive alternative text; purely decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.
Third-party content we don’t control
Some parts of the site are provided by outside services, and their accessibility is governed by those providers:
Donorbox
The embedded giving form on the Give page. Donorbox publishes its own accessibility documentation, and gifts can also be made by phone or by mail if the form is a barrier.
Restream
The live stream player on the Watch page. If the player is difficult to use, the same services stream live on YouTube and Facebook.
Google Maps
The embedded maps on the Home, Plan a Visit, and Contact pages. Our full street address is always provided as text alongside the map.
